From new pedestrian bridge design to structural assessment of aging elevated walkways, Ozer Engineering brings the same rigor to mobility infrastructure as we do to buildings. Tennessee Street Pedestrian Overpass Bridge

KEEPING A CITY CROSSING SAFE, MID-REPAIR

Ozer is currently engineering temporary shoring — a beam-and-column support system — to carry this elevated pedestrian overpass while permanent repair work proceeds below. It's the unglamorous, load-path problem-solving that keeps a public crossing open and safe through construction, not just after it. Ozer will continue to work on this project through completion.

Hillcrest Elevated Walkways and Stairs

WHEN INFRASTRUCTURE AGES, DIAGNOSIS COMES FIRST

Ozer conducted a comprehensive structural assessment of elevated walkways, stairs, and balconies across the Hillcrest Apartments complex — a multi-building residential community where steel-and-concrete systems had deteriorated from long-term moisture exposure. Rusted steel decking, spalled concrete, corroded columns, and rotted wood beams signaled widespread failure. Ozer's work: hands-on site inspection, diagnosis of each system's condition, and detailed repair specifications. The scope included reinforcements, supplementary steel decking, concrete sealing and waterproofing systems, and column base reinforcement across 16+ buildings. Ozer provides site support during construction and reinspection to sign off on completion.

MOVEMENT SHAPES THE COMMUNITY

This new campus housing concept turns circulation into the project’s most visible feature. Elevated walkways, open-air stairs, deep roof overhangs, and shaded exterior landings create a connected student village rather than a row of isolated units. Brick bases, vertical siding, and metal roofs give the buildings a grounded Southern campus character, while the raised porches and balconies make daily movement part of the architecture. The image captures student housing as both shelter and pathway — a place where residents move, gather, and belong.

Memphis Racquet Club Pavilion and Underpass

ABOVE THE COURTS, BUILT TO CONNECT

Structural engineering for Memphis Racquet Club’s elevated pavilion and walkway system turned circulation into a destination. Ozer engineered the steel-framed stairs, elevated deck, roofed viewing platform, rails, foundations, and an underpass to form dual connections — creating a durable overlook where players, families, and spectators move, gather, and watch the courts from above.
